As we close out 2007
and begin a new year
I would like to
recap some of our
club activities and
describe planned
activities for
2008. Our most
recent event, the
Christmas Party at
Porsche of
Huntsville, was also
cause to celebrate
two full years of
dealer support to
the HOD region.
Their support to the
Tennessee Valley and
our club has
contributed to the
growth we’ve enjoyed
the past two years.
Many thanks to them
for hosting the
first half of our
party with style,
elegance, and
delicious food. In
addition to new
members’ purchases,
existing club
members bought five
Porsches in 2007,
besting our total of
four purchases in
2006. The Heart O’
Dixie Porsche Club
and the Century
Automotive Group
enjoy a healthy
symbiotic
relationship. With
114 primary members
and a total
affiliated
membership of 195,
we’re a bigger and
hopefully better
club than at any
time in our club
history.
The club officers
feel that our
mission is to
provide
Porsche-centered
activities for each
and every club
member. With that
goal in mind we have
planned a variety of
events for this
coming year. We
will continue our
Pit Stop breakfast
the first Saturday
of each month. This
is an excellent
opportunity to sit
and chat with other
members in a casual,
informal setting
while enjoying a
good breakfast.
Every second
Thursday of the
month is our evening
dinner meeting. For
fun driving events,
we will have
quarterly driving
tours covering
interesting roads
throughout the
southeast. We will
also include an
overnight tour in
the fall. For the
cold winter months
our dealer will
sponsor our annual
tech session. We
will conduct our
annual novice
driver’s education
at the Talladega
Grand Prix Raceway
in the spring.
Also, our club
actively instructs
and participates in
monthly driver’s
education at Road
Atlanta, Barber, and
Memphis tracks. We
also support

neighboring PCA
Regions who sponsor
weekend events such
as the Winterfest in
February, Spring
Thing in April, and
Rennfest in September.
Our spring tour this
year will be to
Stone Mountain, GA.
We will caravan over
back roads and enjoy
a delightful lunch
at the mountain.
Many of the club Boxsters will attend
the Blue Ridge
Boxster Summit this
summer, and we
will also plan an
overnight tour to
the mountains of
Kentucky this Fall.
The highlight of
2008 will
undoubtedly be the
PCA Parade in
Charlotte, NC, June
28th –
July 3rd.
I have been involved
in the planning for
this event for more
than a year and hope
that my support and
that of other HOD
members will ensure
the 53rd
Parade is the very
best yet! In
addition to the four
standard
competitions:
Rally, Concours,
Technical and
Historical Quiz, and
Autocross, the
Parade will be
followed by a
two-day driver’s
education at the
Lowes Motor Speedway
as well as tours
through the Penske
Porsche Spyder and
Hendrix NASCAR
garages. The Parade
is expected to
sell-out this year
so you’ll need to
complete your
on-line registration
on March 11, 2008,
to reserve your
slot.
We have an exciting
year planned for our
Porsche enthusiasts
and encourage you to
attend as many of
the events as
possible. We want
to offer something
for everyone! Like

it around the
